Praia do Pinho Nude Beach

Praia do Pinho is Brazil’s trailblazing naturist beach, officially recognized in the mid‑1980s. Hidden within a lush Atlantic forest backdrop and protected by rocky headlands, it offers both seclusion and scenic coastal panoramas. The beach's 500‑metre stretch of light, medium‑grain sand and emerald ocean draws a mix of naturists, families, and day visitors immersed in nature and freedom.

Here, nudity isn’t just an option—it’s expected on the sand. The beach is regulated by a local naturist association (AAPP) and aligns with the Brazilian Naturist Federation’s codes of conduct. Visitors navigate from a clothed adaptation zone near the parking lot into the mandatory nudist strip, with strict policies against photography and overt sexual behavior. This structured environment fosters mutual respect, safety, and a non‑sexual ambience.

Amenities reflect its naturist ethos: there's a campground for up to 200 tents, a pousada with chalets and apartments, two full-service restaurants/bars, communal kitchens and showers, Wi‑Fi, and umbrella/chair rentals. Though facilities are comfortable, the focus remains on simplicity and nature, not luxury.

In summer, up to 3,000 visitors may daily arrive to enjoy the sun, sea, and softer pastimes like beach volleyball, leisurely swims, or wandering through the surrounding forest trails. The beach can be lively—and occasionally draws non‑nudist gawkers—so staying near lifeguard towers and campground areas typically offers the best naturist experience.

Drive via BR‑101 or Interpraias Highway from Florianópolis or Balneário Camboriú.

Exit toward Praia do Pinho and follow the signs leading onto private access roads.

Park in the lot at the top; a small fee applies. A short paved path leads to the clothed adaptation area and beyond to the nude beach.

By public transport:

From Balneário Camboriú, take local buses or arrange a taxi heading toward Praia do Pinho.

Ask to be dropped at the campground entrance or parking area. Walk the access path to the beach.

By foot:

Visitors staying in nearby neighbourhoods along Interpraias can walk via marked trails or back roads, though terrain includes forest paths and sandy stretches—durable footwear recommended.
