Praia de Pedras Altas

A secluded, naturist‑friendly cove in Santa Catarina, framed by rocky outcrops and calm clear waters, offering a serene escape

Beach overview

Praia de Pedras Altas is a hidden gem tucked into the right-hand point of Enseada do Brito in Palhoça. Enclosed by natural rock formations, the beach provides a peaceful cove that feels protected and intimate. Its blend of smooth rocks and soft sand leads into gentle, crystal-clear waters ideal for a relaxing swim and light snorkeling.

Recognized as one of Santa Catarina’s premier naturist refuges, Pedras Altas has a long-standing tradition of clothing-optional leisure. A couple of decades ago, entrepreneurs developed a small naturist area on adjacent land, expanding amenities such as camping and a rustic beach bar to support a low-key, harmonious experience with nature.

The surroundings—dense Atlantic forest and large boulder clusters—lend a secluded atmosphere, buffering noise and giving an intimate connection to the natural environment. Unlike busier urban beaches, Pedras Altas remains calm, shaded in parts by trees and offering sections of sunlit sand, making it appealing for individuals, couples, and friends seeking shirt-optional or nude sunbathing in a relaxed, natural setting.

While facilities are simple, visitors can find basic amenities like parking, restrooms, possibly a small snack stand, and clear paths leading from the parking area. Its location within the Serra do Tabuleiro State Park conservation area also helps preserve its unspoiled charm.
